Vertcoin VTC Mining Software
What is Vertcoin? Vertcoin is a digital currency that can be sent between people over the internet. Vertcoin (VTC) stays true to the original vision of cryptocurrency: a financial system owned by its users, the people’s coin. Vertcoin is not controlled by large banks or mining hardware manufacturers and can be mined by anyone profitably. Fairly distributed without a premine, ICO or airdrop, Vertcoin is developed by community members working as volunteers and the project is wholly funded by donations.
A finite resource similar to gold, you can rest assured that Vertcoin will keep your money safe from vested interests and ensure that transaction fees are proportionate and shared between a large number of miners. With Vertcoin, you can truly be your own bank. Designed to resist centralization Vertcoin’s algorithm is designed to resist the development of custom mining hardware and multipool mining, ensuring that transactions are validated by a widely distributed network and avoiding the selling pressure when large mining pools indiscriminately flood the market with freshly mined coins. Our developers have pledged to take whatever steps are necessary to protect this coin from specialized mining equipment and make sure that it will always be possible to mine with consumer grade hardware.

Vertcoin addresses always begin with V and contain 26-36 alphanumeric characters. After a transaction is made, funds will usually clear in less than 5 minutes. There is a small fee to help with the upkeep of the network. This fee is in addition to the transaction amount.
A transfer of 100VTC would incur a fee of about 0.001VTC. The Main Network Block Explorer allows users to search all the blocks and transactions on the:. The term mining stands for the process of validating transactions on the Vertcoin network and keeping it secure. In return for work, miners are rewarded with newly generated Vertcoins. If it's for a private node, setup for merged mining is very easy. As is described on the, all you need to do is define rpcuser and rpcpassword in monocle.conf (maybe set server=1 as well?), then alter your node's.bat to include --merged For example, my current.bat is (minus the username and password): run_p2pool.py --give-author 0 -f 100 --net vertcoin2 --merged To confirm whether or not this worked, you can watch the output of your P2Pool node and see if it's sending merged mining work, which looks like. If you see that from time to time, then congratulations, you're merge-mining MON! It's worth noting, however, that you're solo-mining MON when you do this, so it may take a long time before you actually find any. If you want to set up a public node.
I can't really help ya there. Until another solution comes along, setting up the p2proxy workaround is likely the only way to go, unfortunately. I seem to have the node running right, I saw the message that says i've got merge mining work but can't seem to be able to connect with my miner to it. It keeps saying pool slow down or bad URL/login Am i missing something, do i have to port forward new ports or something, right now i connect using the following and i did port forward 9555. -o 127.0.0.1:9555 -u -p EDIT: Got it working, but i'm still mining on port 9171.
The node is setup to merge mine MON we'll see if I ever get some in the wallet while still mining on port 9171. From what I understand port 9555 is if you are on proxypool and paying different users MON instead of directly sending it to your wallet. Port 9555 is only if you're running the p2proxy in order to distribute MON payouts. If you're going to solo mine MON, leave the port at the previous value (917X)and your password needn't be your MON address. You need to set up your monocle.conf file as you did your vertcoin.conf file when you set up the node, then the payouts will go straight to a wallet address. Oh, and the difficulty modifiers work also, as long as you're not running p2proxy.
I say all this having received my first solo mining MON payout with my rig configured this way.
