If it grows at the same rate eth/ltc did, the price would be lower, but every dgb hodler would be thrilled at the percentage gain. Think that's what the OP was driving. But, if you'd asked me could ETH be worth $700 today about a year ago when it was $7, I would have laughed. I was hoping for $20-40 at the time. So maybe they all correct downward this year, but if they grow at the same rate 2018 as 2017, suddenly what's possible for a higher supply coin like DGB is a lot higher. There is a world imaginable, based on what we've seen this year, where DGB could be $100 in the not too distant future. I'm not predicting it or even really hoping for it, I'm just saying that there are no real limits either way (up or down).

I'm not sure what% of crypto holders actually use crypto to negotiate normal transactions either. However it's neat that you can hold your asset long term or use it to buy something off of newegg.

I'm not sure we have reached more than a curious demand for crypto. What i'm getting at is that the supply thing is bolstered by BTC but this market is still so new that I'm not sure which old guard rules still apply. The very fact we can exchange cryptos on an exchange gives them all inherent value. Sorry for the ramble. Just had back surgery and maybe the meds are making me social:P • • • • • • •. If based on current market caps of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin Digibyte would be valued at roughly per coin: $26, $7, and $1.50. We will absolutely never see Digibyte at $100 considering bitcoin is extremely overvalued at the moment and it will never be worth 4x as much as bitcoin based on market cap.

And even if Digibyte becomes more popular than Litecoin, we are going to be talking about $3 I would venture to guess. Again, these calculations are based on those top coins and it would take a major PR campaign or exposure on Coinbase most likely to reach the same popularity as even Litecoin. Anything could happen of course;) • • • • • • •. 2018 I think could be a massive year for someone, particularly with the popularization of lightning networks.

I wish I could find more info about DGB's plan to capitalize on these new interconnections between chains. DGB is my second favorite coin behind LTC, almost entirely because LTC has had a plan for lightning networks and began laying it out a year ago, you know, back when LTC was $3. I think DGB might be better suited to the opportunity than LTC, but they seem less aware of it, and if they are aware of it, they aren't advertising that fact. Without naming any specific coins I’m in because I’m not here trying to shill any one coin, look for coins that are either unique in their purpose, or for general cryptos look for privacy coins or governance coins.

Digibyte is one of how many generic coins that’s only claim to fame is faster than bitcoin. It’s not about to solve the mass adoption problem by easily bringing crypto to the masses, it’s just another crypto. It’s your money, but if you invest in digibyte in the hopes that one day it’ll replace bitcoin or any other top 5 coin for that matter, you will lose that money. The alternative crypto currency DigiByte (DGB) has shown a temporary peak in interest with trading on exchanges that literally skyrocketed many times over other coins that are more popular, but again this was only a temporary peak in interest and thus in the price of the coin. The interesting thing about DigiByte is that it uses five independent mining algorithms to process transactions over the network with each algorithm accounts for about 20% of all blocks discovered on the network. This allows for greater decentralization as currently three of the five DigiByte algorithms are ASIC resistant and much better for GPU miners. The best GPU algorithms to mine on are Skein, Groestl and Qubit and you can also mine Scrypt and SHA-256 with an ASIC if you already have one. Java Komodo KMD Miner. The DGB coin is traded on some of the large altcoin exchanges such as Cryptsy and Bittrex among others, so if you are looking for something new to try on you might give DigiByte a go though in the next few days we are probably going to see it get back to the previous price levels.
